Reboot after install.
I have never had to reboot between adding hardware though. Then you probably either had someone else do half of the setup for you, or you were dead through it. Double a large amount of RAM is essentially a pointless waste of disk space - unless you use swap to suspend to disk. Interestingly in the Solihull Applestore earlier I put a sequence together of 1080i HD on a MacPro 8 core with 4G Ram and timed the render. I suspect Apple will eventually get around to adding the same MPEG encoding chips into their Macs. I'd still recommend editing in SD if the output is for the web.

Trap 000D (IME) indicates a slight timing problem on the RAM. As the machine warms up then the Traps tend to disappear when you have a *marginal* problem.
